Special Needs & Migrant Communities

Smiles Through Art participated with The Help Group, serving children, adolescents and adults with autism spectrum disorder, learning disabilities, developmental delays, ADHD and emotional challenges in specialized day schools across Los Angeles, CA.

Smiles Through Art developed an Art program “Snowflakes and Special Needs” for 800 people. The Art Program consisted in working with students and migrant communities with special needs.

The snowflakes were made by felt and bedazzled jewels  that represent the holiday season.

Children with special needs from diverse backgrounds decorated them improving their attention to detail and coordination.

The Migrant communities are culturally important because they bring a lot of different cultural experiences.

Each country celebrates the holidays with their cultural heritage and traditions, were holidays are represented with diverse symbolisms, being able to experience their different stories and views, speaking different languages was inspiring with one main thought: Hope and Happiness!

Smiles Through Art brings magic moments in the lives of those who needs them the most. STA Creates arts in healthcare programs that heal minds, increase self-esteem and creativity and improve positive health outcomes.

Arts in healthcare programs like STA are a necessary part of the healing process. We work in assisted living centers, rehabilitation clinics, retirement facilities, schools, hospitals, and clinics to improve the overall health of patients and people in need.
